This Talavera ceramic tile is mostly hand-painted in three different colors: almond, dark green and red lines. The pictures shown, show the patterns where four or more tiles are put together and when a single tile line is put together.
Mexican Talavera ceramic is the result of a mixture of cultures over time. The Spaniards were influenced by Arabic pottery; they brought it to Mexico and the mixture of cultures resulted in beautiful ceramic art. This ceramic tile is an example of the exquisite beauty the Mexican craftsmen put into each item they create. Since it is hand-painted, no two tiles are exactly alike! There may be small differences in size, weight, and some paintings. If you want to delight somebody special with an unique handcrafted gift, this is what you are looking for! This tile is special for small decorations or entire wall decoration. All of our Mexican tiles background is painted in "Mexican white", which is an off white, creamy color.
DISCLAIMER:
All of our Talavera tiles have a heavily hand-made process involved; as such, imperfections are expected. Color variations are to be expected from batch to batch. What you see on your screen might not be exactly what you will get, this is mostly due to several factors, among others: lighting when the picture was taken, lighting in your own monitor, but mostly changes in the glazes used between batches. All these factors are beyond our control. If in doubt, we recommend you to order a sample before committing to a bigger order. This tile has limited outdoors use, we don't recommend its use on temperatures under 40 degrees. It is not frost-proof. It is not suitable for inside pools as the chemicals involved on water cleaning will destroy the clay.
