This Talavera ceramic tile features a big blue seed-like decoration at its center. The background is mostly dark yellow and when put four or more together it creates a bigger 8-petal green and white flower with blue petals and dark yellow center at each intersection.
Mexican Talavera ceramic is the result of a mixture of cultures over the time. The Spaniards were influenced by Arabic pottery, they brought it to Mexico and the mixture of cultures gave as result these beautiful art in clay. This clay tile is just an example of the exquisite beauty the Mexican craftsmen put on each item they create. It is hand painted, this means that no two tiles are exactly alike! There might be small differences in size, weight and color. This tile is special for small patches or entire wall decoration. All of our Mexican tiles background is painted in "Mexican white", which is an off white, creamy color.

All of our Talavera tiles have a heavily hand-made process involved; as such, imperfections are expected. Color variations are to be expected from batch to batch. What you see on your screen might not be exactly what you will get, this is mostly due to several factors, among others: lighting when the picture was taken, lighting in your own monitor, but mostly changes in the glazes used between batches. All these factors are beyond our control. If in doubt, we recommend you to order a sample before committing to a bigger order. This tile has limited outdoors use, we don't recommend its use on temperatures under 40 degrees. It is not frost-proof. It is not suitable for inside pools as the chemicals involved on water cleaning will destroy the clay.
