This kitchen copper sink has a standard 3.75" diameter hole in a single bowl. The upper border is 2" wide at the left, right and front sides and 4" in the back side, where the fountains are installed; this allows more space for the holes to be done in the back border. The bowl measures 21" length by 16" wide by 9" deep. This hammered kitchen copper sink is a beautiful piece of art.
From a copper sheet the wise artisan hands transform it into this unique piece. The hammer footprint is very visible, giving it its own character. The reddish/oxidized texture is characteristic of natural copper when it is cooled down from red-hot temperature using cold water, that specific characteristic is what makes it so beautiful.
This copper sink was mostly raised with the artist hammer. The techniques used by Santa Clara del Cobre craftsmen is the same one used for several centuries, where no power tools are used, just the furnace to heat the copper and a hammer to give it the shape. The finish is in a dark brownish color. Along your home decoration, this piece it will add a unique touch to your kitchen making it a very special point of attraction.
This copper sink will not rust or become greenish because the patina will protect it from humidity and oxidation, just keep it as dry as you can to preserve it longer with the current color textures. The patina can be damaged faster if any abrasive substances stay for long periods of time on the sink surface, because of this, washing it after usage is recommended; besides that, no more maintenance is required. The copper sheet is 14 gauge (0.064" thickness).
