The drawings on this copper tray are very detailed, all hand made. It features birds on foliage sucking nectar from the flowers. This tray has a clear patina where the copper is exposed to preserve it longer; no further copper polishing or maintenance required. Use a wet cotton cloth to clean it. The hammer footprint is very visible where the copper is exposed. This tray was made from one sheet of copper, raised with the artist hammer, there are no one welded joints. Hammering the red-hot copper is an ancient technique the coppersmiths use, where no sophisticated tools are used, just the furnace to heat the copper and a hammer to give it the shape. Suitable for your coffe table as a nice accent piece. We got this tray from the skilled coppersmiths from Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. It has a twisted interleaved string all the way around it, with silver and copper intermixed in a beautiful pattern.
